About us
We are both born and bred Southlanders, married for 32 years with 3 grown up children, we have lived in Southland all our lives and Manapouri for the last 9 years.
We both have a love for Manapouri and Fiordland and honestly don’t think there is anywhere we would rather live.
Janice
Janice comes from a professional background and has worked for Real Journeys in Manapouri for the last eight years, currently heading up the Catering Department.
Zeb
Zeb an ex Firefighter and Builder, was a Nature Guide for Real Journeys for several years, mostly in Doubtful Sound, but also in Milford and Dusky Sounds.
We both came to realise that our visitors expectations regarding accommodation were often not being met, and it prompted us to create Acheron cottages. Zeb left Real Journeys and built the Cottages, while Janice took up the administrative side.
We think that together we can enhance your Fiordland experience.
Zebs motto as a Nature Guide, and still is, if I don’t know the answer I will have it in 30 minutes.
